Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of VIDI ("VIDI", "the app", "we", "us") on every platform we offer it: the iOS app, the Android app, and the web app at vidi.berkertopuz.com/app. By downloading or using VIDI you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Where a term applies to only one platform, it says so.

1. Who we are

VIDI is operated by Ilkin Berker Topuz, Schulstraße 1, 12683 Berlin, Germany. Contact: [email protected]. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use VIDI. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

On iOS, VIDI creates an anonymous account for you on first launch so you can use it without registering, and you may optionally link an email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In to secure and recover it. On Android and the web, an account is required from the start: sign up with an email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

post or share content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory, or infringes others' rights;
impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation;
spam, scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or its backend;
upload malware or attempt to disrupt the service.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create in VIDI (posts, comments, avatar, notes, and optional comment images, animated GIFs, or short videos). By posting or uploading content that is visible to other users, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display that content within the app for the purpose of operating the service. You are responsible for the content you post or upload and confirm you have the right to share it.

We may remove or restrict text and attachments that are unlawful, infringing, abusive, unsafe, or otherwise violate these Terms, and may retain limited moderation records where necessary to operate the service and respond to reports.

6. Catalog content & attribution

Show, movie, and game information in VIDI is compiled from third-party sources and shown for informational purposes:

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Anime metadata, characters, and voice actors are provided by AniList.
Anime identity mapping comes from Fribb's anime-lists, used under ODbL v1.0 and DbCL v1.0.
Character artwork for animated series comes from TVmaze (used under CC BY-SA) and TheTVDB (used with attribution).
Game data is provided by IGDB; some game data comes from RAWG.
Supplementary title data is provided by OMDb.
Identity and cross-source links come from Wikidata (CC0).

All titles, artwork, logos, and trademarks (including streaming-service names) belong to their respective owners. VIDI claims no ownership of them.

7. Supporter purchase

VIDI is free to use in full on every platform. Nothing is behind a paywall, and no feature, content, or preferential treatment can be bought. Supporting VIDI is optional:

Supporter purchase (iOS only). A one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple under your Apple Media Services terms. It adds a cosmetic supporter badge next to your name and nothing else. The purchase is permanent and can be restored on a new device via "Restore purchase" with the same Apple Account. The badge is tied to your VIDI account state; deleting your VIDI account removes the badge (the App Store purchase record remains with Apple). Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
Android. The VIDI Android app contains no in-app purchases and no billing of any kind.
Voluntary donation (outside the app). You may leave a tip through a third-party platform from our donation page on this website. This is a voluntary gift rather than a purchase, is non-refundable, and buys nothing: the supporter badge added afterwards is cosmetic. Payment is handled by that platform under its own terms and privacy policy; we never receive your card details.

8. Availability & changes

We work to keep VIDI available and reliable but provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, or under the German Product Liability Act). Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for loss of data caused by factors outside our reasonable control, or for the accuracy of third-party catalog information. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

10. Termination

You may stop using VIDI and delete your account at any time (see Account & Data Deletion). We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version, and material changes will be surfaced in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. To the extent permitted by law and provided you are not a consumer, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms is Berlin, Germany.
