Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: 12 July 2026
You can delete your VIDI account and all associated data at any time. There are two ways to do it.
Option 1 — Delete inside the app (recommended)
- Open VIDI and go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Your account is deleted when you confirm. Uploaded comment media is removed by the same deletion flow, and a maintenance cleanup handles any object left by an interrupted storage request.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, email us from the address linked to your account (or include your VIDI username) and we will delete your account for you.
Request account deletion
We respond to deletion requests without undue delay and, in any case, within 30 days, as required by Art. 17 GDPR.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- your profile (username, display name, avatar image);
- your entire watch history and check-ins (episodes, movies, games), scores, reactions, notes;
- your watchlist, statuses, and favorites;
- your social content — posts, comments, likes, and follows;
- uploaded comment images, GIFs, videos, and their generated poster frames;
- your product-analytics events and any bug reports tied to your account;
- your login credentials (if you linked an email/password).
What may remain
- Aggregated, anonymized usage counts that can no longer be linked to you.
- Records we are legally required to keep for a limited time (e.g. certain support or tax records). These are retained only as long as the law requires, then deleted.
- Backups are purged on our provider's normal backup rotation.
Catalog data (shows, movies, games) is not your personal data and is unaffected.
This action is permanent
Deletion cannot be undone. Your history cannot be recovered afterwards. If you only want to step away, you can simply stop using the app instead.
